Planning a better park day

We built ParkQuest because planning a weekend outing shouldn't end in disappointment. Post-pandemic, local outdoor recreation spaces are more popular than ever, but not every green space on the map serves every purpose. A quiet nature preserve is terrible for a noisy family soccer game, and an active sports complex is a bad place to read a book in a hammock.

How to use these recommendations

This planner takes your selected gear and moods and translates them into specific terms you should look for on your city's parks department website. For example:

Assumptions and Limitations

ParkQuest helps you define what to look for, but it does not know your local geography. You must still verify that the park you choose actually has these amenities available and open today. Always check local weather, park hours, and seasonal facility closures (restrooms are often locked in winter in northern climates).

Group Activity Ideas

If you are coordinating a diverse group, try mixing presets. Focus on securing the hardest requirement first. Usually, this is either a reservable picnic shelter with a grill, or specific sports courts. Restrooms are heavily requested by families, so prioritize parks clearly marked as having facilities.
